SHUR/Sharp™ 4055 Rotary Microtome Heavy duty biological or industrial microtome

Use this microtome to section paraffin embedded biological specimens or industrial materials. This precision-engineered microtome has a 70mm vertical stroke and 40mm horizontal advance. A debris protector shields internal mechanisms. Powerful cross roller bearing guideways provide specimen arm stability. Models are available with specimen advance when the coarse advance hand-wheel is turned in either a clockwise (forward) or counter-clockwise (reverse) motion. The perfectly balanced fine advance hand wheel can be locked with a positive interlock mechanism in any position. Fine advance feed ranges are from 0.5 to 2.0µm in 0.5µm increments, 2 to 10µm in 1µm increments, 10 to 20µm in 2µm increments and 20 to 60 µm in 5µm increments.

SHUR/Sharp™ 4060 Retracting Rotary Microtome Heavy duty, retracting, biological or industrial microtome

Use this microtome to section paraffin or plastic embedded specimens or industrial materials. The SHUR/Sharp™ 4060 has all of the features of the SHUR/Sharp™ 4055 plus specimen retraction. When rotating the fine advance handwheel, the specimen passes the knife-edge routinely; however, during the upstroke the specimen arm is mechanically retracted to prevent potentially damaging contact with the knife-edge. This also reduces the accumulation of debris on the back edge of the knife and prolongs the sharpness of the cutting surface. Additional features include a counter for the number of rotations of the fine advance hand wheel, and an Autotrim feature that accelerates trimming and reduces repetitive motions. It provides three pre-set positions for controlled coarse advance of 10, 20 and 30µm. Items included with the microtome are the same as with the SHUR/Sharp™ 4055.
