TBS’ microscope slides are manufactured from high quality clear borosilicate float glass (refractive index of ne=1.51), hydrolytic Class l, to exacting specifications in a modern high-tech manufacturing facility. Automated ultrasonic cleaning tanks, ultra-pure water and infrared drying ovens are utilized for maximum cleanliness & dryness. Final product is then hermetically sealed & desiccant added to maintain freshness.
All sizes have excellent flatness, chemical resistivity and optimal light transmission values. Each edge is precision ground to a smooth finish for operator safety and to minimize jamming in automated labelers.
Select the ideal slide type for your application based on your method of applying specimen identification information; i.e.- pencils, pens or automated scribing labelers. For use with TBS’ SHUR/Mark® and Thermo-Shandon/R A Lamb’s Microwriter, a contrasting black color is painted across the entire back of the slide for optimum viewing of long strings of patient information on the front. |

SHUR/Mark® Slides
SHUR/Mark® Slides are prepackaged in thumb-tab box for convenient pick-up & insertion into hoppers. Thumb-tab box facilitates slide pick-up with finger and thumb cut-outs for secure handling. Slides are available in a variety of colors and with or without a Silane coating. |
