SHUR/Mark® Software Options

The SHUR/Mark® labeling systems systems have three different software packages available to accommodate your lab's needs and workflow. Whichever package you choose, these flexible, powerful, and extremely user-friendly solutions reduce repetitive entries and data entry time.

Advanced Software Upgrade with 2-D data matrix barcode printing capability. Required to upgrade older 32-bit Advanced Software to be able to print 2-D bar-codes. One is req'd for each SHUR/Mark® slide and / or cassette labeler. Pre-1992 SHUR/Mark® instruments are not upgradeable and 1992-1995 units will require a hardware upgrade. PC w/ Pentium™ processor & 32 meg/RAM req'd. 

Super Software; 32-bit Windows® based version; Accepts extrapolated ASCII formatted patient data from mainframes, networks, & laboratory information systems.  Can also be utilized to import & export data to/from conventional spreadsheets & databases for convenient data management. Requires some programming by an institution's programmer or LIS vendor.  One SM-SS can support any 2 SHUR/Mark® instruments on the same PC. Pre-1992 SHUR/Mark® instruments are not upgradeable and 1992-1995 units will require a hardware upgrade. PC w/ Pentium™ processor  & 32 meg/RAM req'd.

Upgrade from SM-SS to SM-SSBC functionality. Required to upgrade a 32-bit Super Software license to the newer bar-code printing capability.

Protocol Software; 32-bit Windows® based version; Operator programmable; User can create, store and recall multiple formats (batches) from the 32-bit Advanced Software such that the user merely selects a tissue type from the Protocol menu, inputs the specific patient information and a certain predetermined number of cassettes and/or slides are automatically printed. One SM-PSBC can support any 2 SHUR/Mark® instruments on the same PC. Pre-1992 instruments are not upgradeable and 1992-1995 units will require a hardware upgrade. PC w/ Pentium™ processor & 32 meg/RAM req'd. Barcode printing not supported.
